ACTIVEGYM

Project Summary

The Active Balance Gym: Gymnastics for Health and Well-Being project addresses the growing physical inactivity and workplace stress affecting employees aged 30–50, particularly those in management roles. Sedentary work patterns contribute to poor posture, reduced mobility, increased stress, and higher risks of cardiovascular and mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.

To respond to these challenges, the project introduces the Adaptive Gymnastic Learning Environment (AGLE)—an innovative, workplace-oriented approach focused on improving posture, balance, agility, and functional movement through gymnastics-based activities. AGLE complements existing fitness offers by targeting functional health needs often neglected in standard workplace wellness programs.

The project will produce a practical AGLE manual, train coaches, and pilot gymnastic sessions in Slovenia, Italy, and Turkey. Expected results include reduced workplace stress, improved physical fitness, and stronger team dynamics. By aligning with Erasmus+ priorities on health, inclusion, and lifelong physical activity, the project delivers a scalable and replicable model for sustainable workplace well-being across Europe.

Project objectives

The main objective of the project is to develop and validate the AGLE manual and implement structured workplace gymnastics activities for employees aged 30–50. The project aims to:

  • design a practical, evidence-based manual for workplace gymnastics;

  • train coaches to deliver AGLE-based activities consistently and safely;

  • pilot gymnastic sessions in real workplace environments;

  • improve posture, balance, functional movement, and stress management among participants;

  • promote sustainable, inclusive, and non-competitive physical activity models.

Through manual development and pilot implementation, the project ensures tangible outputs, measurable results, and long-term usability beyond EU funding.
